UPDATE: Pedestrian dies after being struck by semi on US 30 Monday night

ABC 57

UPDATE TWO: The Warsaw Police Department reports officers responded to the westbound lanes of US 30 at Meijer Drive for a collision involving a pedestrian and a semi-truck around 6:29 p.m., Monday.

Officers arrived to find 69-year-old Randy Williams, of Rochester, dead on scene.

Police say the preliminary investigation determined Williams was outside of his Ford F150 to gather and secure cargo that had fallen from his truck's bed.

The report states Williams was parked on the shoulder of US 30, not the travel lanes.

Williams was then struck by a 2022 Kenworth T680 tractor-trailer, driven by 30-year-old Amrinder Singh of Milwaukee.

The Kosciusko County Coroner determined Williams’ cause of death to be blunt force trauma.

The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office Fatal Team was requested for reconstruction.

A commercial motor vehicle inspection was also conducted by the Indiana State Police.

UPDATE: Westbound traffic is now open after a critical incident involving a pedestrian.
