West Wolf Avenue home damaged by gunfire

ELKHART, Ind. – Police are investigating after an Elkhart home was damaged by gunfire early Sunday morning, the Elkhart Police Department reported.

At 1:43 a.m., an officer responded to a call reporting the sound of gunfire in the area of 7^th Street and W. Wolf Avenue.

While trying to find the source of the sound, officers determined a house in the 700 block of W. Wolf Avenue had been shot at and damaged.

Witnesses in the area said the alleged suspect appeared to have been in the back seat of a white SUV and that the SUV left the scene heading west on W. Wolf Avenue.

No one was reported injured.

This case is still under investigation.
