Wellfield Botanic Gardens hosts 17th Annual Taste of the Gardens

ELKHART, Ind. -- The 17th annual Taste of the Gardens featured cuisine from 11 locally owned restaurants, product from dozens of artisanal vendors, and a blend of chill Sunday tunes for the thousands in attendance.

Wellfield Botanic Gardens Executive Director, Kurt Dreisilker is now in his second year at the position and says the true meaning of the event stems from their support of locally owned businesses.

“As a botanic garden that’s founded by the community through the Elkhart Rotary club, we depend on the community to come out and support us,” Dreisilker said. “All of the restaurants and vendors are supported by the community, so they get to take home the revenue that they generate from their sales.”

Whether it was the food and artisanal vendors opening new eyes to their products, or attendees adding a new favorite spot to their list, the 17th annual festival full of food, art, and music, proved to be a win for everyone.
