Walmart set to invest in remodeling Indiana stores for new experience, including Ireland Road location

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Walmart announced they plan to invest money into remodeling several stores across Indiana, including the store at 700 W. Ireland Rd. in South Bend, for a new store experience.
Officials with Walmart say this is part of their ambitious plan to remodel over 650 stores nationwide.
Walmart officials say they plan on creating a new look with big, bold signage and exciting new displays to better showcase merchandise.
Other upgrades include expanded departments with new items and expanding online pickup and delivery.
Officials add this remodel will also include rethinking their pharmacy with wider aisles, a new private screening room, and privacy checkout areas.
Walmart Director of Communications Mark Rickel said, "The South Bend store is slated to begin construction this summer with an approximate completion sometime in October/November."
Rickel says the store will remain open during the remodel work.
The Ireland Road Walmart is the same one ABC57's Dante Stanton covered in a previous story in early March, bringing attention to deep potholes that could severely damage customers' vehicles.
