GOSHEN, Ind. -- Voters supporting both candidates seemed to be motivated to get out and show their support.
In Michigan, 70 percent of registered voters cast ballots and 60 percent across Indiana according to the Secretary of State’s Office.
With 98 percent of votes counted in Michigan, voters in Mitten State Cast the record for most ballots in the State’s History, according to unofficial results from the Associated Press.
In the Hoosier state, while early voting numbers were strong, they still weren’t higher than numbers in the 2020 election.
Election County Officials were still counting Absentee Ballots following a glitch Election Day with the ballot readers.
County Clerk, Chris Anderson, said he expects this year's turnout to be around 56 percent, with more than 37,000 voting on Election Day and around 32,000 early votes, after everything is accounted for.
That’s just under the state turnout of 60 percent, and the National Turnout of 65 percent of registered voters.
"I was expecting to be a little bit higher. I was hoping to get into the 60s and that, but I think we did have a good turnout. We had fabulous turn out at the early locations,” said Anderson.
The clerk said he hopes to see the absentee ballots finalized by Wednesday evening.
