WASHINGTON D.C.— Firefighters and police officers in Washington D.C. rescued a dog from a railroad bridge along the Potomac River on Sunday.
DC Fire and EMS tweeted on March 28 that rescuers weren’t sure how the pup ended up on the bridge.
Fireboats were called in just in case the dog decided to go for a dip.
The dog was rescued from the bridge and turned over to US Park Police.
Police officials later said the dog, whose name is Whiskey, had been reunited with his owner.
Mission accomplished, #DCsBravest and @usparkpolicepio successfully rescued this cutie from a RR bridge abutment on the Potomac River. Our Fireboats stood by in case he decided to go for a dip. How he got there remains a mystery. Now in the hands of our US Park PD partners. pic.twitter.com/pgTN5frbmR
