NILES, Mich. -- Sticky Spoons Jam in Niles held their annual Veteran Makers Market event, bringing together several vendors that are all ran by people who have served in the military.
A handful of vendors showed up today, all making the items they are selling themselves.
The Veteran Makers Market began last year, with the owner of Sticky Spoons Jam being a veteran herself, and she encourages the community to get out and support veteran owned businesses.
"Well, there are over 1 million veteran owned businesses in the United States. We're just a small part of that. So I think out here today, we have maybe five or six of us, and think about the numbers that exist just in your own town, in your own state, and we're asking that you just go out and represent by supporting veteran made veteran grown any veteran owned company you can find specifically this weekend, it's a good time to support a veteran. During Veterans Day," stated Owner of Sticky Spoons Jam Aiye Akhigbe.
