Utility truck driver seriously injured in two-vehicle crash Monday

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich. -- The Michigan State Police Marshall Post reports troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash at U.S. 12 Highway and Sevison Road in White Pigeon Township around 9 a.m. Monday.
Police say their initial investigation determined a car, driven by a 27-year-old White Pigeon resident, was traveling north on Sevison Road and failed to yield to a utility truck traveling east on U.S. 12.
The report states the truck, driven by a 23-year-old Worthington, Ind. man then struck the car before crashing into a large tree.
The truck driver became trapped and was extricated before being hospitalized with serious injuries.
The car's driver was treated for minor injuries and the crash remains under investigation.
U.S.12 was closed from A Road to Lutz Road for a short time.
