Coach formally removed from John Adams football program; remains employed at SBCSC

ABC 57

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The head football coach at John Adams High School has been removed from his role with the team.

The district announced it has completed its investigation into Frank Karczewski, who is also employed as a teacher in South Bend Community School Corporation. District officials say concerns were raised over photographs and messages purportedly associated with Karczewski. The district says it found "insufficient evidence" that he sent them to the students involved.

Officials say Karczewski will not return as the school's head football coach but will remain employed at the district. ABC57 previously confirmed he is a teacher at John Adams.

District officials say John Adams will begin the process of selecting a new coach.
