University releases severe weather photos from ND - USF season opener

NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- Back on Sept. 3, many people were upset about the severe weather delays that caused officials to stall a football game twice.

This wasn't exactly the home opener that fans had been expecting for Notre Dame as they hosted South Florida for the first game of the season.

More than 80,000 fans were evacuated just after 5 p.m. that Saturday.

This Wednesday, the Notre Dame Athletics Department forwarded ABC 57 News some severe weather photos.

Their message: "If you had any questions about the weather delays at the Notre Dame - USF football game a few weeks back, these photos will answer them . . . "

See what they captured on camera!  Check out our photo gallery.
