Two-vehicle head-on collision in Elkhart

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office reported a two-vehicle crash on S.R. 15 south of C.R. 42. at 9:36 a.m. on Aug. 24.

The release indicated that a 2007 Lexus ES350 driven by 18-year-old Natalie Riegsecker of Middlebury, was traveling south on S.R. 15 before failing to negotiate a lane change due to bridge work. The roadway insisted to move from the southbound lane over to the westside shoulder.

A 2012 Ford F150, driven by 64-year-old Kelly Nichols of Warsaw, was headed north when it collided head-on with the Lexus. The crash resulted in Nichols sustaining minor bleeding in the knee.

The report states that Riegsecker received minor injuries as well.
