On Wednesday, the Dowagiac City Fire Department and the Wayne Township Fire department held live-fire operations training.
The Berrien County Fireman’s Association allowed the use of their fire training trailer for the sessions.
The training was focused on basement fire operations, fire suppression, and search and rescue training. Another purpose of live fire training is to provide quality instructions and guidance in firefighting skills. They trained on realism while incorporating the proper skills and competencies for firefighters to increase fire ground safety and understanding.
