Two men arrested after fleeing from Mishawaka police Friday morning

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- A Mishawaka Police Officer and his K9 partner tracked and apprehended two men who fled from a traffic accident early Friday morning.
The Mishawaka Police Department says a night shift officer located a vehicle that was reported stolen out of Wisconsin around 2:30 a.m. and attempted a traffic stop.
"The driver initially stopped," MPD said. "The driver then fled the stop, and a pursuit ensued, which ended when the vehicle being chased, a 2024 Jeep Compass got into a minor crash in the 400 block of West Battell Street. The two occupants of the vehicle then fled on foot."
From there, the officer and his K9 partner Fradi tracked the two suspects to a garage in the 400 block of West Lawrence Street where both suspects were taken into custody without incident.
Authorities say both suspects are 33-year-old males, one from Chicago and the other from Noblesville.
They are both charged with Auto Theft, Resisting Law Enforcement, Burglary and Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Crash.
