Two injured in Monday morning crash
ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to Old U.S. Highway 33 and C.R. 1 for a two-vehicle crash on Monday around 9:20 a.m.
The report states a Chevy Equinox, driven by 72-year-old Kathleen Fozo of Mishawaka, was traveling east on Old U.S. Highway 33 approaching C.R. 1.
A Nissan Versa, driven by a 27-year-old Mishawaka woman, was also traveling east on Old U.S. Highway 33.
Authorities say the Nissan then stopped at the intersection to turn left onto C.R. 1, when Fozo became distracted and crashed into the rear of the Nissan.
Fozo was taken to Elkhart General Hospital for neck pain.
The 27-year-old driver also had complaints of neck pain.
The report states the roadway was wet at the time.
