ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- UPDATE: The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office reports the 7-year-old boy has died from his injures.
The incident remains under investigation.
ORIGINAL STORY: The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to C.R. 4 east of C.R. 29 regarding two boys being struck by a vehicle while on their bikes around 7:50 a.m., Tuesday.
The report states a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by 31-year-old Daisy Velazquez of Elkhart, was traveling east on C.R. 4 east of C.R. 29.
A 7-year-old boy and 13-year-old boy, both from Bristol, were riding their bikes east on C.R. 4 east of C.R. 29.
At the time of the crash, the report states the sun was causing a glare for eastbound traffic.
Authorities say that's when the Jeep's front passenger side corner struck both boys.
The 7-year-old was airlifted to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo with life-threatening injuries.
The 13-year-old was taken to Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
No citations were issued at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
