Starke County face-to-face with severe weather
ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. — ABC57’s Dante Stanton scouted through the Michiana area Monday to assess some of the biggest impacts from the ongoing winter storm.
The biggest incidents included a water main break in the Twyckenham Hills neighborhood, an hours-long slow down on the U.S. 20 bypass and a fatal crash near the St. Joseph and Elkhart County line.
St. Joseph County police confirmed one person died in a two-vehicle crash near Ash and Leham Roads around 6:35 this morning. The road was closed for more than four hours.
Traffic on the bypass was backed up from the Elm Road exit to the Breman highway exit after a semi jackknifed a crossed the east bound lanes. That section of the bypass is now open.
