Three vehicle crash in Elkhart

ABC 57

ELKHART, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sherriff's Office reports deputies responded to the area of CR 4 and CR 11 around 5:50 a.m., Thursday, for a multi-vehicle crash.

Authorities say that a Dodge Durango, driven by a 39-year-old Elkhart man, was traveling West on CR 4 when he failed to yield the right of way for an oncoming vehicle.

Authorities say a Ford Expedition, driven by a 45-year-old Elkhart woman, that was travelling East on CR 4, was unable to stop in time and hit the Durango on the rear passenger side. This caused the Expedition to spin around and face West in the westbound lane and the Durango to spin around and face East in the eastbound lane.

That's when authorities say that a Chevrolet Colorado, driven by a 20-year-old Elkhart man, that was traveling West on CR 4, was unable to stop in time and struck the Expedition and the Durango on the front passenger door.

The 39-year-old driver was transported for complaint of head pain. There were no other injuries reported.
