Three Rivers police investigate a shooting on Thomas Street

THREE RIVERS, Mich. - Three Rivers Officers were dispatched to River Trail Apartments on Thomas Street for a reported shooting around 12:26 am this morning.

Upon arrival, officers located a 17 year old female with a gunshot wound to the head.

The suspect fled the scene and was later believed to be in the area of Walnut Meadow Apartments on Erie Street.

Officers were able to set up surveillance and narrowed down the suspect's location to a third floor apartment.

A search warrant was executed for evidence and located the 20 year old suspect, who was lodged at ST Joseph County Jail for assault with intent of murder.

The victim is currently in critical condition at a local hospital.
