Three Elkhart County Jail inmates hospitalized on Wednesday
ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- On Wednesday (Jan. 15) night a medical emergency at the Elkhart County Corrections Facility housing ward left three adult males unconscious with no apparent injuries.
Authorities say the call came in around 6:52 p.m. and preliminary information shows that three adult males were found unconscious, and aid was rendered by jail medical staff and officers.
"Medics from the Concord and Baugo Fire Department’s responded and transported them for treatment at the hospital," authorities said. "The three males were treated and released back to the Elkhart County Corrections Facility."
The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office is investigating to identify the cause for the medical emergency.
"This is an ongoing investigation, and we will provide updates when new information becomes available," the ECSO said.
