Thousands of Notre Dame fans kicked off their game day by running the Game Day Chase, a fundraiser for the Kelly Cares Foundation.
The 5K run/family walk featured themed miles and even a special end zone section at the finish line.
Coach Brian Kelly and his wife Paqui started Kelly Cares after Paqui's battle with breast cancer.
Since 2008 they've been able to give back more than $5-million.
"We started this idea to make a change where there were some holes that needed to be filled. Part of the passion is my journey through breast cancer was a very positive one, in terms of I didn't have a lot of side effects and bumps in the road, where along my path, I saw others that had that and some of the needs that still need to be filled, we've been able to do that working with other non-profits," Paqui Kelly said.
If you missed the Game Day Chase, the Kelly Cares Foundation has several events in October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
It's called Paqui's Playbook and includes a Pink Out Zumba at Notre Dame Stadium and the Power of Pink Cocktail Party.
