SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The South Bend Police Department’s “Elficers” are back this year with helping more families than ever.
This year, the Elficers are delivering donated food and toys to more than 200 kids, this is compared to the 50 kids last year.
“It is 100% donation driven cause that we try to help out families that need assistance with Christmas. Obviously, this year has been very, very trying year, and with the epidemic. Plus, just some people are just down on their luck. The requests for assistance have quadrupled this year. Being 100% donation driven. We will, we basically try to help out as many families as we can with the donations we get,” said Joshua Morgan, Vice President.
The South Bend Police are still accepting donations through December 19. People can drop off the donations at their Sample Street headquarters.
