The heat is popping off while rain is popping up today

NOW: The heat is popping off while rain is popping up today

Dense but patchy fog is developing across our area this morning. Later in the day, the hottest temperatures of the week will likely be found today across all of Michiana with expected values in the low 90s by this afternoon. Generally sunny skies accompany the hot and humid weather, but isolated pop-up showers and storms are possible through most of the afternoon and evening. Another heat advisory goes into effect later today for heat index values yet again reaching the triple digits. Tonight, lows fall to near 70 degrees amidst partly cloudy conditions. Wednesday starts off warm, muggy, and rain-free, but a broad frontal boundary brings in widespread shower and thunderstorm chances in the evening and overnight into Thursday morning. Some storms could produce enough heavy rain to cause flooding as well. Thursday afternoon and evening are drier and less humid with temperatures sitting in the mid 70s.

Today: Isolated thunderstorms. High 92.

Tonight: Partly cloudy. Low 70.

Wednesday: Scattered showers. High 84.

Thursday: AM thunderstorms.  High 76.
