Extreme heat and humidity last through the weekend. Friday could start with a few early morning showers/storms, that could be a factor in keeping the heat just below Heat Advisory criteria. Kickoff temperatures for high school football will be in the upper 80s with a heat index above 90. Saturday is the hottest of the next three, with a heat index nearing 100. Sunday the chance of storms builds into the evening. The heat and humidity drop through next week.
