Temporary cooling center to open Thursday in Elkhart

ELKHART, Ind. – As a result of high humidity and rising temperatures, a temporary cooling center will open Thursday at the Elkhart Central Fire Station.
According to the City of Elkhart, the center will be open during normal business hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday.
The fire station is located at 500 East Street in the downtown area.
