SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Taylor Swift will not be a member of The Tortured Poets Department much longer as Travis Kelce scored more than a touchdown, he got a ring and secured a yes.

The pop star and tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs announced their engagement via social media Tues. afternoon. Although it’s unknown when he got on one knee, it was surely The Best Day for the couple, like Tues. was for many fans.

“We saw it in an Instagram and the first thing that we thought was how excited we are to see their kids and how they’re going to be both athletic and musical just like Zac Efron in High School Musical,” said Swifty Maria Manzella after seeing the announcement.

With the new Reputation of fiancée, the question now, what wedding trends will Begin Again? Nick Athens, the owner of a family-run jewelry shop in Mishawaka, Athens Jewelers, said he knows All Too Well the impact big weddings can have, even at the local level.

“She’s a trend setter of all trends setters, I think… The celebrities always inspire others but I think the last one that comes to mind is Prince Henry and Megan Markel… their engagement ring was really fun, I think it was an aquamarine,” said Athens.

When it comes to Taylor’s ring, Athens said he expects an uptick in sales with a similar style.

“I mean it’s odd to call an 8 carat huge engagement ring… modest but… that’s kind of maybe the first or second word… to come to mind when I see her engagement ring… yellow gold solitaire ring… her engagement ring is low set, solitaire, antique… cushion cut… which just means there’s less facets… someone referred to it as an old miners cut,” said Athens.

Some in the community were not too thrilled with the thought of Swift and Kelce being Evermore with the fear of a change in her music.

“I’m happy that’s she’s happy but in the same breath I’m gonna say I don’t think we’re ever gonna get another Evermore, another Folklore, I don’t think we’re gonna get those sad songs anymore, unless there’s a divorce, which we of course we don’t want to happen,” said Benny Frostino.

While others can’t wait to hear more, “I mean I’m excited for her, it’s good news, it’s like when your English teacher and your gym teacher get engaged… I hope we get a new album or some good songs about it. I don't know a lot of married pop stars. So it would be kind of dope if she wrote something cool about it,” said a fan, Bailey Chavis.
