The suspect, identified as Justin Michael Brown of Bremen, is currently being held in the Marshall County Jail for Murder.

Brown's initial court hearing has yet to be set.

The Marshall County Sheriff's Department reports deputies responded to a 911 call on Sept. 3 regarding a man saying he'd been stabbed.

Deputies arrived to find the man, identified as Brown, who indicated he stabbed a woman, identified as 46-year-old Elzabeth Hite, after she had stabbed him.

Authorities then rushed to the home where Brown said Hite was. Deputies located Hite dead at the residence.

After obtaining a search warrant for both the residence and Brown's vehicle, authorities executed multiple search warrants in the area of the 1400 block of Jute Road, recovering a knife, drug paraphernalia, and a white powdery substance, among other items.

Deputies later learned Brown had not been stabbed.
