Suspect arrested after officer hears gunshots fired in Goshen

GOSHEN, Ind.—A suspect was arrested on Saturday night in Goshen after an officer heard gunshots, according to the police blotter.

An officer was near North 1st Street and East Oakridge Avenue when he reported hearing gunshots come from a vehicle in the area around 10 p.m.

During an investigation into the incident, police arrested Edgar Salazar, 24, of Goshen, on suspicion of resisting law enforcement with a vehicle, resisting law enforcement on foot, criminal recklessness with a firearm, possession of a handgun without a permit and driving while suspended prior, according to police records.

Salazar was booked into the Elkhart County Jail.
