LAPORTE COUNTY, Mich. --Keeping precious cargo, safe!
Memorial Day weekend brings millions of Americans on the road, increasing the chances for accidents.
Every kid deserves to be safe and Franciscan Health wants to urge parents to go through every precaution possible to make sure that your car seats are anchored in correctly.
Multiple local agencies are getting trained on the proper way for buckling children into their seats and providing safety checks this week, including the South Bend Police Department.
There are several, free opportunities to have your car seat checked out.
South Bend PD holds a drive through car seat check Saturday, May 27th from 2 to 5 PM.
Michigan City Franciscan Health holds their car seat safety check on Wednesday, May 30th from 2 to 6 PM.
You must bring the child utilizing the car seat with you.
