BUCHANAN, Mich. -- In a matchup of undefeated Lakeland Conference teams Friday night, Berrien Springs emerged victorious with a 30-20 victory over Buchanan.
Braelin Hurst did much of the heavy lifting himself, tallying three rushing touchdowns, as well as a passing touchdown.
Buchanan had an opportunity to take the lead late in the fourth quarter, but a costly interception swung the game in the Shamrocks’ favor.
After the game, Berrien Springs head coach Ben Iliff said “a lot of grit, just a lot of gutting it out, we didn't play the prettiest, we shot ourselves in the foot a lot of times, but we found ways to make plays we needed, defense stepped up big."
The Shamrocks travel to Comstock Park next week, Buchanan faces Bronson on the road.
