Developing Downtowns: South Bend
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Nearly 300 students and teachers from across South Bend Schools performed together in a joint concert tonight at the Morris Performing Arts Center.
The first of its kind event featured award-winning ensembles, including band, choirs, orchestra, and jazz.
The student musicians from Adams, Clay, Riley, and Washington High Schools performed ensembles that previously earned some of these students' gold medals at Indiana State School Music Association competitions.
Tonight's concert was part of a larger Arts Equity Program promoting diversity in performers and audiences.
Prior to the concert, students gathered for a rehearsal before a dinner held in their honor at the Palais Royale.
