Reports came in overnight of isolated storm damage in Elkhart, along Country Road 10.
Parts of a roof were torn off of Bonnell Aluminum located on County Road 10. Debris was left scattered on the ground but thankfully there are no reports of injuries.
Initial reports came in saying it was a tornado but that does NOT look to be the case.
The photo above is what velocity (wind speed and direction) looked like as the storms moved through the area around 1 am. There was no rotation found on radar but a wind gust near 50 mph was picked up.
Instead, there was likely a gust front, which forms as the thunderstorm's downdraft sends strong wind into the leading edge of the storm. A strong pocket of wind managed to cause all of the damage.
