St. Joseph County Health Officer resigns
ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. - The St. Joseph County Department of Health has announced the resignation of Health Officer, Dr. Diana Purushotham. It will become effective June 6.
The Department of Health says the resignation comes as Dr. Purushotham and her family are relocating out of state.
Dr. Purushotham stated she is "grateful for her time at the department and is sad to leave at a time of such exciting growth."
Dr. Purushotham encourages residents to attend the upcoming SJC Board of Health meeting on Wednesday, March 21, beginning at 4:30 p.m. on the 4th floor Chambers of the County City Building.
An agenda for the meeting will be released this week.
In related news, the Berrien County Health Department recently announced the resignation of their Medical Director, Dr. Rex Cabaltica.
Dr. Cabaltica served Berrien County for the past three years and will be moving closer to his family in South Carolina. His resignation goes into effect June 3.
