SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The St. Joseph County Board of Commissioners met Tuesday to discuss what the future of Portage Manor could look like.
Commissioners are considering transferring the ownership to a company called “A Place for Everyone Incorporated.”
County officials are currently struggling with issues of funding and licensing of the facility.
Officials’ primary concern is that the disabled residents get the care they need under new ownership.
The board will take a vote on Portage Manor next week on June 6th.
