St. Joe County Republican party calling for the resignation of Probate Court Judge Jason Cichowicz
SAINT JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- The Saint Joseph County Republican Party is calling on Probate Court Judge Jason Cichowicz to resign, after a teenager who escaped from the Juvenile Justice Center Cichowicz oversees allegedly killed a 20-year-old in South Bend.
18-year-old Cyjarron Odynski is charged with Murder and Felony Escape for disappearing during an outing to a South Bend Cubs baseball game with two Juvenile Justice Officers on July 26.
Four days later Odynski is accused of shooting and killing 20-year-old Isaiah Walton-Davis in an ally off Sample Street.
The Republican party leadership squarely blaming Judge Cichowicz for the escape, because of the fact that he oversees the Juvenile Justice Center and the teen suspects.
Jackie Horvath, the County Republican Chair told ABC57 News, "Thanks to Democrat leadership and softness on crime, 20-year-old Isaiah Walton-Davis is dead, the lesson is clear, when you do bad things, you should be punished. Not taken to a baseball game. The people of Saint Joseph County want to live in a safe community and safety comes with accountability. Judge Cichowicz should resign."
Judge Cichowicz was suspended from the bench last year for Judicial Misconduct.
