UPDATE: SSL trains on the move, half hour delay expected due to NIPSCO issues

UPDATE 2: As of 11:13 a.m., the NIPSCO utility problems have been resolved.

Eastbound Train #7 is delayed 40 to 45 minutes and westbound Train #20 is delayed 25 to 30 minutes.

Westbound Train #118 is on the move with a 20-to-30-minute delay due to ongoing NIPSCO utility problems.

Eastbound Train #7 passengers will be bused from Gary Metro to Miller.

They will then reboard the train and continue eastbound to their destination.

UPDATE: SSL officials announced due to the ongoing NIPSCO utility problems, an extra Train #118 will depart out of Gary Metro at its scheduled time, 8:54 a.m. CST.

The original Train #118 will stop at Miller and passengers will be bused to Gary Metro to reboard and continue westbound.

Passengers should continue to expect delays.

ORIGINAL STORY: The South Shore Line Reports Westbound train #214 has been cancelled Friday, due to ongoing NIPSCO utility problems.

Westbound train #216 is expected to depart Gary Metro as scheduled at 8:12 a.m.

Eastbound train #103 and Eastbound train #105 will be stopped at Gary Metro and riders should expect delays.

Time of delays are currently unknown.
