SOUTH BEND, In. -- South Bend resident Jim Szcus, who’s lived in Indiana his whole life said that his past voting experiences have always been short waits.
However, this afternoon he waited in a long line outside Clay High School for over 45 minutes before even entering the building to vote.
Although the long line didn’t bother him personally, he is concerned that older folks may not have as easy of a time waiting in line for that long.
“I understand the voting center concept, it's tolerable, but I kind of feel sorry for the people who are older than me, people who physically have to stand out and wait for an hour or more. It’s got to be tough for them,” Szcus said.
Szcus hopes that for the November election, that alternative options will be available for those who physically can’t stand in long lines.
