Pedestrian shot while walking along Chapin Street in South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- South Bend Police are investigating a shooting that happened early Sunday morning.

On  Sunday, Jan. 13 at approximately 5:10 a.m., police responded to the 1700 block of S. Chapin St. on reports of a shooting.

Arriving officers discovered a 29-year-old male with a non-life threatening injury to his upper leg.

The victim told officers he was walking when he heard gun sounds and felt a pain in his leg.

The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment.
