South Bend Record Show returning in time for the holidays
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Record Show is returning on Sunday, Dec. 8, for its final event of the year.
Organizers say 40 vendors from five states will run 100 tables at The Gillespie Conference Center at the Hilton Garden Inn just north of St. Mary's College.
The event brings collectors and vendors together to buy and sell a wide variety of pre-owned LPs, new vinyl releases, 45s, CDs, cassettes, posters, vintage stereo gear, music T-shirts, record supplies, and more.
"There will be roughly 100,000 pieces of music all in one room this Sunday," said South Bend resident and event organizer Jeremy D. Bonfiglio. "If you have music fans on your holiday gift-giving list, there is no better place to shop. Plus, you can pick up a little something for yourself, too. Since, I have a big, white beard, you can just say it came from Santa.”
Highlights:
- All music genres are represented, with a strong emphasis on classic rock, modern pop, ’80s, hard rock and metal, punk, jazz, blues, R&B, country, and more.
- General admission begins at 11 a.m. and costs $2. Early entry is at 9 a.m. for $7.
- Free door prize drawings will be held at noon and 2 p.m. for the chance to win $25 shopping certificates and record products from BCW Supplies, the event's sponsor, based in Middletown, Indiana.
- BCW will give away free tote bags to the first 75 customers at the door.
- Attendees are encouraged to bring cash, the preferred form of payment by all vendors. Select dealers may also accept credit and debit cards, PayPal, Zelle, and Venmo. There is an ATM in the hotel lobby.
