SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- South Bend's Pre-K program is adding six new elementary schools for the 2026-27 school year, expanding to 14 sites in total.

The South Bend Community School Corporation (SBCSC) announced the six new elementary schools in the program Wednesday, including Coquillard, Edison, Darden, Monroe, Madison, and Wilson elementary schools.

These six schools join the eight existing pre-K program sites: Clay International Academy, Harrison, Lincoln, Marshall, Muessel, McKinley, Nuner, and Swanson elementary schools.

SBCSC's Pre-K program is open for enrollment on the SBCSC website as of Wednesday to children who will be 4 years old by Aug. 1 of the school year.

Enrollment, available on the SBCSC website, also requires a birth certificate, proof of address, immunization records, and additional forms. As the class sizes are capped at 12 students, the SBCSC also encourages families to apply as soon as possible.
