SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Two people were taken to the hospital after a shooting and stabbing that happened in the 600 block of LaSalle Avenue, near Downtown South Bend on Wednesday night.
According to South Bend Police, officers were dispatched to the scene on a ShotSpotter activation where they found a 33-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his leg. He was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
Officers continue to investigate a shooting and stabbing that both took place in the 600 block of W. LaSalle Wednesday night.

Minutes after the investigation began on LaSalle Avenue, police were notified of a stabbing victim on East Mishawaka Avenue. This victim was a 23-years-old man and he was also taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Police say the shooting victim is the suspect of the stabbing and the stabbing victim is the suspect in the shooting.
