SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The South Bend Police Department is running a food drive for struggling families in the area, and the department is asking the public to help them do so.
SBPD is asking the community to donate Thanksgiving food items to be packaged into dinners for local families in need this holiday season.
The police department said they’re accepting cash and food donations for these dinners.
“We’re ecstatic, we’re absolutely happy to help those in need. If there’s anything I’ve learned participating in our Christmas program, the difference you make, even for the children you meet and the adults in need, there’s no better feeling,” said Aaron Knepper, the Logistics Officer with SBPD.
These items can be dropped off through this Friday, Nov. 20, at the department at 701 W. Sample Street.
