South Bend Police arrest wanted man

The South Bend Police Department’s Strategic Focus Unit arrested a man who was wanted on multiple warrants.

On Wednesday, the unit located 23-year-old Quintarrius Carter at a home on Ford Street.

Carter was taken into custody following a surround and call-out by negotiators. He was wanted on outstanding warrants for carrying a handgun without a license, criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon and resisting law enforcement.

The unit obtained a search warrant for the home and recovered a firearm and narcotics, police said.

The homeowner, 26-year-old Ashley Young, was also taken into custody on charges of possession of a controlled substance and child endangerment.
