County-City building to reopen Tuesday for Plan Commission meeting

ABC 57

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The City of South Bend announced Tuesday that it plans to hold the South Bend Plan Commission meeting at 4 p.m. in the County-City Building, "in order to comply with Indiana Open Door Law requirements for meeting notification."

City officials say the meeting will be held on the fourth floor of the County-City Building in Council Chambers.

The County-City building was initially closed for the day due to extremely cold temperatures, but city officials have decided to hold the meeting in the otherwise empty building.

"Attendees are encouraged to dress warmly," a city spokesperson said. "The county made the decision to close the county-city building, it was not the city’s call to make. Public notice for the meeting was already issued, preventing it from being relocated. The building will be open for the meeting."

Residents can also attend the meeting virtually.
