SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Potowatomi Park saw their night get a little brighter as the South Bend Symphony Orchestra performed tonight Aug. 18.
Around 1300 people showed up to listen to the performance which was part of the Chris Wilson Community Lay Along Concert Series.
The performance also included a few songs where members of the community could come up and perform with the band.
"Our whole mission as a symphony is to connect people with this music. And so in this crowd here, you'll see little kids dancing. You'll see retirees enjoying this music. It's a free concert. Everyone's here together, and they're sharing space together. I think so much of our world today, we're divided, and this is one experience where everyone can kind of come together and and. Be human and enjoy the music," stated Justus Zimmerman the Executive Director of the South Bend Symphony.
This year was the 15th year of the concert series, and the attendance was the largest seen since the pandemic.
