South Bend man sentenced for selling fentanyl while on supervised release for selling heroin

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A South Bend man has been sentenced to 60 months in prison followed by four years of supervised release after he was convicted of selling nearly 100 grams of a substance containing fentanyl while being on federal supervised release. 

Thirty-seven-year-old Earl Mines was sentenced in United States District Court this week.

According to documents in the case, in July 2024, Mines sold nearly 100 grams of a substance containing fentanyl while on federal supervised release following his 2019 conviction for possessing with intent to distribute heroin, possessing a firearm as a convicted felon, and for possessing a stolen firearm.
