South Bend launches "Build the Budget 2025" seeking public input
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- On Monday, the City of South Bend announced, "Build the Budget 2025," the fourth year of the program that is geared towards engaging residents and encouraging them to voice their opinions and priorities for the 2025 budget season.
“Participating in the annual budget planning process is an important way that residents can shape our city and its future,” said Mayor James Mueller. “The more ideas and input we get, the stronger our budget and City will be. I encourage all residents to participate in Build the Budget and make their voice heard.”
City officials say residents can participate in this process until Sept. 13.
The city says that during the 2024 budget planning season there were over 1,100 resident engagements, and the goal is to exceed that number in 2025.
Those who wish to contribute, but cannot make a public meeting, can fill out the online budget survey.
South Bend’s first budget hearing is scheduled for Aug. 14 with the final budget vote scheduled for Oct. 14.
