South Bend Home Repair Program accepting applications through Feb. 13
ABC 57 SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The City of South Bend announced it's now accepting applications for the Home Repair Program through Feb. 13.
City officials say the grant program is available to eligible homeowners and occupants whose home is within city limits.
Through the program's eligible repair will be new roofs, determined by inspection.
“We’re excited to offer a new round of home repair grants that focus on roof repairs to extend a home’s lifespan and maintain safety for residents,” said Executive Director of Community Investment, Caleb Bauer.
Eligible residents must meet the following requirements:
- 65 years or older
- Own and live in their home
- Income qualify and be enrolled in the city’s Utility Assistance Program at the time of application
Households not currently enrolled in UAP can call 311 or visit South Bend's website.
If you're interested in applying for the program, you can call 311, or visit the City Service Center in City Hall, to complete pre-screening.
If you meet the initial requirements, you'll be sent an application.
