South Bend firefighters respond to house fire on west side

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Friday morning firefighters rushed to put out flames at a South Bend home.

It happened around 3:30 a.m. on Philippa Street. Flames ripped out of the home's second floor along with heavy smoke.

Five fire trucks lined the road on the city's west side. 

Police said the family was in the process of moving out.

No one was hurt in the fire.
