South Bend Fire Department set to host open house in honor of fire prevention month

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Fire Department is set to host a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house for Fire Station #8, in honor of fire prevention month.
The event will take place on Oct. 20 from 12-2 p.m. at Fire Station #8, 2402 South Twyckenham Street.
All who attend will have the opportunity to tour the fire house, fire trucks, and EMS vehicles.
Activities for kids will be offered as well as a fire prevention and safety demonstration.
The event is free and open to the public.
