South Bend Cubs headed to Midwest League Championship

The South Bend Cubs will begin play for the Midwest League championship this week.

Sunday night, the Cubs topped the Great Lakes Loons 7-3 to advance to the championship.  The Cubs haven't lost a postseason game yet.

They'll either play the Cedar Rapids Kernels or the Clinton LumberKings. That series wraps up Monday night.

The first two games of the Midwest Championship series will take place Wednesday and Thursday nights at Four Winds Field. The third game, and if necessary, the fourth and fifth games will be held at the home field of the Western Division Champions.

It was also announced by the Cubs' President Joe Hart that past and current members of the military and first responders are allowed to attend the games free of charge. Additionally, the will receive two free tickets.

You must show your military I.D. or first responder identification at the box office to receive your free tickets.

For both games, the gates will open at 6 p.m. and the first pitch will be at 7:05 p.m.

Dugout box seats are $14 and field box seats are $12 in advance. Those prices will increase by a dollar on the days of the games.
